How it works
From first call to final settlement.
Here is what to expect when you work with ERT Policyholders Advocates.
- 1
Free claim review
It starts with a conversation. You tell us what happened, where your claim stands, and share any letters or estimates you have received. We review your situation and let you know honestly whether we can help. There is no cost and no obligation for this review.
- 2
Agreement
If we can help, we provide a written public adjuster contract that spells out our contingency fee, what we will do, and your right to cancel within the period allowed by your state. Once it is signed, we notify your insurance company that we represent you.
- 3
Evidence & documentation
We work with you to gather and organize the evidence that supports the claim: your photos and video, contractor and mitigation estimates, receipts, contents lists, and every letter from the insurer. We point out gaps, including hidden and secondary damage that often gets missed, so nothing is left out.
- 4
Claim preparation
We review the insurance company’s estimate line by line against your contractor’s estimate and the coverages in your policy, then prepare a clear claim presentation showing what was missed or underpaid. That includes the dwelling, other structures, personal property, and additional living expenses where they apply.
- 5
Negotiation & settlement
We present the claim, meet with the insurance company adjuster, respond to their requests, and negotiate for a fair settlement. You get regular updates and make the final decision on any settlement offer.
How we work
Five principles behind every claim.
We represent you only
We never work for insurance companies. Our only client in your claim is you.
Evidence first
Strong claims are built on thorough documentation, not opinions.
Clear communication
You will always know where your claim stands and what comes next.
Policy driven
We tie every item in the claim back to the language in your policy.
Honest assessments
If we do not think we can add value, we will tell you up front.
Before you accept the insurance company’s decision, get a second look.
A denial or a low estimate is not always the final word. Send us the details and we will let you know whether we can help, at no cost to you.
